Just got back from a short camping trip Buttermere Village. Stayed at Syke Farm Campsite which has basic facility's but does give a great base for going into the hills. (Haystacks, High Crag, High Style and Red Pike, Grasmoor, Crag Hill, Wandope & Whiteless Pike, Rannerdale Crags etc. )Two pubs are near by, the Bridge Inn which is a bit pricey and the Fish Hotel which has great beer and food and is cheaper.
